In 2019, our family revitalized Falbo Park, which was originally donated by our grandfather, Sam Falbo on April 16, 1953. The community invested over $200,000 to create the first Inclusive Playground in the City of Lorain. The playground now features equipment and musical elements that can be enjoyed by children of all physical, mental and emotional abilities.
The 3.84 acre park was also upgraded with new sidewalks, a waterline to supply a new hydration station, and storm sewers for drainage. A large concrete parking lot and bike racks were added to make the park accessible to the entire community.
The community came together to support the revitalization. The Mayor issued a press release promoting the park and attended the ribbon cutting ceremony held on November 4, 2019.
Thank you to these organizations for their donations:
Visit the park located at 925 Meister Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053 (map below). You won't miss it because of the unique sign we made! Sam Falbo purchased a Lorain 48H Excavator from the Thew Shovel Company in Lorain, which was disassembled, sand blasted, painted and given a stainless steel sign to mark the entrance to the most exciting park in the City of Lorain!
